Providing Peer Support to help families with a loved one experiencing Dementia symptoms or a Dementia  diagnosis.

My Mission - To  consult with adult children  whose parent has been diagnosed with dementia, to provide caring peer support

My lived experience - I have been supporting a parent with dementia for two years as Power of Attorney, and I manage the finances and medical care for both parents.


Goals:

*Navigate decision making,

*increase awareness about services,

*plan for budgeting and  caregiver supports, 

*understand the care system and agencies,

*share supportive tools,

*explore solutions,

*network,

*access family strengths using a strengths- based approach.


What is peer support?  a friendly face,  an understanding shoulder to lean on, and shared lived experience.


Initial consultation - in person or video call, one to two hours. 

Outcomes: strength-based plan of support,  list of services and connections,  a family action plan with specific goals and timelines          cost $300


Follow up consultations - in person or video call - one hour check in to discuss plans and set new goals. 

Outcomes:  updated support plan, lists and action plan     cost $150
